Get the Most From Your pluto. Candle
A premium soy wax candle deserves proper care. Follow these simple tips to maximise burn time, scent throw, and the life of your handcrafted vessel.
The First Burn Is the Most Important
When you light your candle for the first time, let it burn until the entire surface has melted to a liquid pool — edge to edge. For our Eries bowl candles, this usually takes 2-3 hours. This prevents tunneling and ensures an even burn for the life of the candle.
Trim Your Wick
Before every burn, trim the wick to approximately 5mm. This prevents the flame from getting too large, reduces soot, and helps the candle burn evenly. You can use scissors, nail clippers, or a dedicated wick trimmer.
Burn Time Guidelines
- Minimum: 1 hour (to prevent tunneling)
- Maximum: 4 hours (to prevent overheating the vessel)
- Sweet spot: 2-3 hours per session
Safety Tips
- Always place your candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface
- Keep away from drafts, which cause uneven burning and dripping
- Never leave a burning candle unattended
- Stop burning when 1cm of wax remains to protect the vessel
After the Candle: Reuse Your Vessel
One of the most beautiful things about a pluto. candle is that the vessel lives on. Once your candle has finished:
- Place the vessel in the freezer for 2 hours
- Pop out the remaining wax
- Clean with warm soapy water
- Use as a planter, jewellery dish, or decorative bowl
Every pluto. vessel is designed to be a permanent part of your home — not a disposable product.
